A direct result of the original 'shilling brick' fundraising campaigns, the first properties completed by the Trust in 1930 were the twenty-four three-bedroom semi-detached houses built off Hawkeys Lane. Of these, ten were sold under the ‘right to buy’ scheme in the early 1980s, leaving fourteen remaining in the hands of the Trust. These well proportioned family homes remain extremely popular with their tenants.
